Daniel works as an economics consultant with Oxera Consulting LLP, based in their London office. He uses economics and analytical tools, such as data science and causal inference methods, to provide solutions to a range of client issues across various sectors and areas of expertise including transport, competition and energy. He is an experienced Python and R developer, including for spatial analysis using geographic information systems (GIS).
Before joining Oxera, Daniel was a research associate at Durham University where he was awarded a PhD in economics in January 2026. During his PhD, Daniel has collected, processed and analysed firm-level economic data to evaluate sectoral responses to environmental regulation. His work on spatially differentiated risks faced by insurance companies and the coal-fired power sector has been published in peer-reviewed journals and attracted funding from government and academic institutions. His thesis was awarded the 2026 Faculty of Business PhD Thesis Prize at Durham University. Daniel's research was supervised by Riccardo Scarpa and Ashar Aftab.
